Office Ergonomics Tip of the Week

March 11, 2008

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is a common and painful affliction in the office workplace. Many people do not realize how serious this condition can be, or that Carpel Tunnel Syndrome can be easily avoided by performing simple exercises at your desk, just five minutes per day! You can utilize items typically found in or on a desk, such as rubber bands and stress balls to aid your short exercise regimen or you can just free hand it!

As an added preventative of carpel tunnel syndrome, exercise regularly. Increased blood flow and healthy muscles can definitely fight off carpel tunnel syndrome.

Ergomomic office equipment can make all the difference in the world when it comes to your level of comfort and satisfaction at the office – but only if you know how to utilze it properly.

Applied Ergonomics Conference & Expo 2008

March 4, 2008

Ergonomics conference

The Applied Ergomomics Conference and Expo is coming to the Rosen Center Hotel in Orlando, Florida, this March 10-13th.

The event is going to be packed with educational sessions, exhibits, guest speakers, and work shops. The keynote speaker will be John Sprouls, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Legal & Business Affairs, Universal Parks and Resorts and CEO, Universal City Development Partners (Universal Orlando). If you are in the field of office ergonomics, or are simply interested in the topic, I bet that would be a very interesting speech to attend. There will also be special events at the Applied Ergonmics Conference and Expo, such as the prestigious Ergo Cup and facility tours. One of the facility tours is actually taking place in the Kennedy Space Centre. How cool would that tour be?

It sounds like it will be a very interesting trade show; if you happen to be attending this one, I would love some feedback. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your Bluetooth wireless headset! You do not want to be caught at an ergonomics conference without an ergonomic headset
