Promoting a sanitary and healthy call centre environment is a primary concern for most, if not all call centre managers. After all, cutting down on office germs means less downtime, healthier and happy employees, and generally an environment that can lead to higher conversion rates.
It can be quite a challenge to maintain a healthy germ free environment in a typical call centre environment. Multiple shifts and a medium-to-high turnover can invite colds, influenza, and even more serious viral infections. Fortunately, measures can be take, procedures can be implemented, and results can be immediate, if you know where to start.
An obvious place to begin when promiting a sanitary call centre environment is employee headsets. Make sure to have an abundant supply of sanitary headset wipes on hand. Keep every station stocked and insist employees make use of the ample stash. Next, consider purchasing foam ear cuishions for headsets in bulk. Distrbute them to each employee and have them keep them at their stations in a baggie marked with their name.
Also a great idea to fight call center employee sick days is to ensure that there is plenty of hand sanititizer everywhere. This includes the staff rooms and washrooms, which should also be well stocked and very well maintained.
Fighting call center employee sick days do not need to be a daunting, complicated task. The above tips are simple yet effective, inexpensive, easy to implement, and a great place to start.

Here is an interesting fact we came across, thanks to the Plantronics Headset Manufacturer:
A wireless headset is safe to use all day, this according to Plantronics. A wireless headset produces 300 times less power then a cell phone. That’s a good thing.
You may notice that after several hours of use, a cell phone heats up. With a wireless headset, you don’t get this. The CS 50 from plantronics produces zero RF emmissions (radio frequency).
The CS 50 from Plantronics has a 300 ft range and a 8 hr talk time.
Call us if we can answer any of your other questions or if you would like to try one out.
Headset Express is a leader when it comes to wireless and wired headsets.

I am still on the topic of call centre humour!
I came across a very funny video on YouTube today; it was put together by DESPAIR, INC. As apposed to purchasing his increasingly disgruntled office staff relatively inexpensive headsets, this manager chooses a slightly cheaper yet much more creative way to deal with the collective downward spiral of demotivation and despair that his staff is experiencing.
Check out this very funny video…and remember, even wireless headsets are much less expensive than you might think. Headset Express offers great deals on wired and wireless headsets.
